Arco da Calheta
The southwest is the sunniest region of Madeira. Here is one of the oldest settlements on the island located: Arco da Calheta with its population of around 3000 residents. Several cafes, snack bars, minimercados and plenty of tranquility crown this heavenly spot as the perfect vacation destination. Due to the pleasant subtropical climate we have season all year round and there are always pleasant temperatures on the sunny flower island.
The village owes its name to its location surrounded by mountains and its proximity to Calheta. Only a few minutes away by car you will find one of the only two white sandy beaches of Madeira. The pier protects you from the waves of the Atlantic Ocean and allows you to enjoy a wonderful day at the beach. At the newly built marina you can enjoy culinary delights in numerous restaurants of different price ranges.
